The guarantor for an International student doesn’t need to be a UK guarantor. They can be from the student's country of origin (Usually parents).

  1. The contact details for the guarantor (email address and phone number) cannot be the same as the student’s or Unite will not be able to process the booking.

  2. If the guarantor’s email address matches the address or the number of an existing customer, Unite will not be able to process the booking;

  3. The guarantor must be aged 25 or over and a responsible person who will be accountable for paying the student’s rent and damages should the student be unable to make the payments.

  4. The guarantor will be listed in the tenancy agreement and also has to accept their own agreement. If incorrect guarantor information is provided, it could become a legal matter and mean that the student’s contract is not valid.
